Research Plant Physiologist / Research Agronomist at the Department of Agriculture Open Position

The United States Department of Agriculture is recruiting for an open position at Agricultural Research Service (ARS) with the focus of the position on weed/plant genetics. The position is fairly broad in scope with opportunities to work in crop and non-crop systems using empirical and theoretical approaches. The challenges of managing weedy plants are universal across the US and this position would allow for an individual to build on current collaborations while establishing new ones both within and outside of ARS.

ARS weed science is re-building with leadership at the national level that is engaging and helping guide the overall direction of research in addressing many critical issues. New positions are being added, including a weed scientist at this same location, which will focus on automation and vision systems for developing advanced integrated weed management. Individuals in these two positions will have an opportunity to work collaboratively and attract funding and human capital to a growing weed science program.
